General Rules of the Game
→ Keep OOC/IC separate. This is self-explanatory. We're all grown-ups. This is a town-based games and it's easy when, there's IC drama, for situations to arise OOC. It is unrealistic to expect human beings to be able to completely separate themselves from creations of their imaginations. But try your best. If you have a problem with a player or the way they're playing off your character, please address your issue with one of the Mods either via AIM, PM or Email.
→ Update at least once every two weeks. 14 days, people. That's generous. Updating means one of the following: substantial journal entry (2-3 paragraphs), an AIM scene log or a thread. In addition to this, please make sure you're doing your part to reply to open threads as well as comment to journals.
→ This game is for ages 17+. This does not mean your characters have to be seventeen or older. We've had players in the past bring in tween and early teen characters. Just make sure anything you do with underage characters is realistic. Furthermore, if you play a middle-aged character, please have the maturity to play them well. Most 40+ year-olds don't act like they're twelve. Most, not all. ;)
→ Limit your netspeak. Not everyone enjoys sorting through all the roflmfao! omg srsly?! stuff. If you're talking one-on-one to someone OOC, that's one thing. If you're in character and you're not playing a 14 year-old, let's cut back on the netspeak. LOL's and emoticons are good in moderation.
→ You have 48 hours to post an in character introduction in ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) orchardfalls. This is your character introducing themselves to the other characters in the game. It'll make a good impression and help establish early friendships and connections with other players/characters. You'll have a week from the time you're accepted to post something, anything, else IN CHARACTER. If you do not do this - you'll be given until the next add day. If you still haven't posted anything, you'll be removed without the ability to re-apply.
→ Adds will be after 5 applications have been submitted, until April 21, 2008. After that time, adds will be every Monday and Thursday - usually in the evenings.
→ We have had problems in the past with people abandoning ship, so to speak. If you need to leave for one reason or another, or a storyline isn't working for you - please don't drop the game or SL like a hot potato. Give notice to one of the mods via AIM, PM or Email {if you're leaving the game}, or speak with your writing partner {if you're dropping a storyline}. This keeps tempers at bay and prevents toes from being stepped upon. It also allows the Mods the opportunity to rectify any/all situations. We'll try our best to smooth over any problems if you give us enough warning.
→ The mods can and WILL remove you for breaking the rules. If you've read these rules, the application question 'Where can you find the best apples?' should be answered with 'Orchard Falls.'
→ Journal names need to pertain to your character's name {i.e., Jason Sloan = jasloan or Erik Duncan = eduncan}.

→ Linking to an example journal in your application is allowed. In fact, it is strongly encouraged. If it is friends-only, please friend ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) orchardmod before submitting your application
→ If all of these elements are not completed when you submit your application, it will be denied. You can only re-apply once. Don't waste it on something petty.
→ All comments are screened
